This is an opportunity to witness and reflect on a tragic day in American history, the day when more than 400 men, women and children were sold at the largest auction of enslaved people in the United States.
On Sunday, April 12, we'll gather at at St. Peter's Church in Hebron to hear powerful staged readings of the voices of those men, women and children. The production is based on the novel, Day of Tears by Julius Lester, who has granted his permission for this adaptation.
Discussion and dinner follow the performance.
We encourage you to read the book prior to the event, but if you don't, the performance will stand on its own.
