This day is reserved for any unfinished survey sites or areas we think need a little more exploration. Meet at the Sinclair Gas Station in Heber at 8:45AM. Look for Hogle Zoo staff waiting for you there.Transportation: Your own personal/private vehicle. AWD or 4WD required. It is around a 2 hr drive from SLC, 1hr from Heber to get to the survey area.Difficulty: 5/10. We will be visiting any sites we did not finish earlier in the season or places that need a bit more exploration. Difficulty may vary depending on where these surveys end up being. Prep for an up to 2 mile hike and a full day of walking off-trail through desne vegetation(willows, tall grasses) and uneven forest terrain.Difficulty rating 1-10:1 - easy, little elevation gain, on-trail, short distance hiking10 - hard, significant elevation gain, uneven terrain, off-trail, dense vegetation, long distance hikingWhat to bring/wear: Comfortable hiking clothes and close-toed shoes you don't mind getting dirty/wet (light weight hiking pants/work pants recommended over shorts). A daypack with a packed lunch, snacks, water (minimum 32oz), sun protection (hat, glasses), rain jacket (rain pants if you have them), warm layers if needed, extra socks (keep these in your backpack). Water/rain boots or waders are recommended but not required (your feet are likely to get wet). Some prefer to wear light weight long sleeve shirts to protect them from getting scratched by vegetation.
