A crucial point is that there’s not one, single, experience or view of what it means to be secure (or insecure) and that this breadth of views and experiences can provide an important source of democratic vitality and legitimacy.Professor Michael Lister is a Professor of Politics at Oxford Brookes University. He has secured a prestigious Economic and Social Research grant, with Lee Jarvis, to research counterterrorism powers and their impacts on security and citizenship. He has also been invited to give talks to a NATO workshop and the UK Home Office.
