WHAT URINETOWN is a satirical musical set in a dystopian future where a severe water shortage has led to a government ban on private toilets, forcing citizens to pay for the use of public restrooms controlled by a corrupt corporation. In this darkly comedic musical, the story unfolds in a city plagued by a 20-year drought, where the Urine Good Company (UGC) monopolizes public toilets. Citizens must pay a fee to relieve themselves, and those who cannot afford it face dire consequences, including being sent to the mysterious "Urinetown," a place from which no one returns. The narrative follows Bobby Strong, a young hero who leads a rebellion against the oppressive system, fighting for the right to urinate freely.
