Our journey begins in France with Ravel’s Le Tombeau de Couperin. This is music of profound elegance and charm. From the refined salons of Paris, we fly to the passionate world of Argentina for Ginastera’s Harp Concerto. This is the harp as you’ve never heard it before. Forget angelic melodies; this is a fiery, rhythmic, and virtuosic showpiece. Ginastera unleashes the instrument's percussive power in a thrilling display of Argentinian folk rhythms and brilliant, modern energy.
Our journey ends with a spectacular musical postcard from the city of lights, written by a brilliant American. Gershwin’s An American in Paris is a joyous, jazz-infused tone poem.
