Current initiatives include groundbreaking neonatal research aimed at improving recovery outcomes for newborns undergoing major surgery, direct financial assistance for families facing hardship during their child’s hospital stay, live music programs that bring calm and comfort to intensive care and surgical areas, specialist lifesaving equipment for critically ill babies, and compassionate grief and loss support for families experiencing the unimaginable loss of a child. Unfortunately, one of the girls passed away following heart surgery at the Royal Children's in Melbourne after 28 days. So, whilst we had the worst experience possible, we also had an amazing experience with the staff and doctors of the NICU and WCH in general.
