Meeting the Ancestors: A Journey Through Slavic Ancestral Tradition

Across pre-Christian Slavic cultures, ancestors were not viewed as distant figures of the past—they remained an important part of family and community life. Through seasonal feasts, storytelling, offerings, and remembrance, the living honored those who came before them while recognizing that every family carries both blessings and burdens across generations.

In this one-hour experiential class, we'll begin with a brief exploration of the history and folklore of Slavic ancestor traditions, including how these communities distinguished between honored ancestors, the restless dead, and other spiritual beings found in their folklore. From there, you'll be guided through a reflective meditation inspired by these historical traditions—not as a reconstruction of an ancient ritual, but as a contemplative practice for connecting with your family's strengths, acknowledging unresolved stories, and embracing the wisdom that has been passed down through generations.

Whether you're curious about Slavic history, interested in ancestral traditions, or simply looking for a meaningful meditation experience, this class offers a grounded and thoughtful space for reflection, healing, and personal growth.

You will experience:

- A historical introduction to Slavic ancestor traditions and folklore
- A guided meditation inspired by pre-Christian Slavic beliefs
- Reflection on inherited strengths, values, and family legacy
- Gentle practices for acknowledging the past while choosing what you carry into the future.

🐈‍⬛️No prior knowledge of Slavic traditions or meditation experience is required. Participants of all backgrounds are welcome.
