Join us for a relaxed 2-hour introduction to Linocut Holiday Card-Making with Instructor Athena Hosto.
Discover the joy of traditional relief printmaking in this festive, beginner-friendly Linocut Workshop!
Linocut is a simple and accessible carving and printing technique that originated in the late 19th century as an alternative to woodblock printing.
In this hands-on class, you’ll design, carve, and print your own linoleum block to create beautifully handcrafted holiday cards.
Guided step-by-step by an experienced instructor, Athena Hosto, you will learn how to:
• Create and plan a holiday-themed design
• Transfer your artwork onto a linoleum block
• Safely carve your design using printmaking tools
• Ink your carved block with oil-based inks
• Print your design by hand or on a traditional relief press
• Achieve consistent, high-quality prints and explore creative variations
By the end of the session, you’ll leave with:
• A reusable hand-carved lino stamp
• A small edition of your own printed holiday cards
• The foundational skills to continue linocut printmaking at home
All tools, materials, and refreshments are included.
No experience is required — perfect for complete beginners and creative enthusiasts alike.

Participant Guidelines:
• Closed-toe shoes are required
• No prior experience necessary
• Long hair should be tied back and loose clothing avoided near wheels
• Due to limited seating and prep required, all ticket sales are non-refundable
