Entitled "The Romano Typographic History Project" the series will consist of two modules totally ten, 90-minute lecture on major milestones in the history of typographic technology. The topics are:Module 1:History of the Linotype Company (May 2)History of the Ludlow Typograph (May 16)History of the Typewriter and Mimeograph (May 30)History of Phototypesetting (June 6)History of Desktop Publishing (June 20)Module 2:History of the Typesetting Service (September 19)History of the Printing Press (October 3)History of Digital On-Demand Printing (October 17)History of Typographic Communication (October 31)History and Future of the Printed Product (November 7)There is a $50 tuition fee per module for members. Tuition for non-members is $100 (this includes a Museum of Printing individual membership). Registrants will also receive a 20% discount on any Frank Romano book on the subject in the Museum’s gift shop.Module 1 will take place in May and June. Module 2 will take place in the fall, starting in September. Classes will meet in person at the Museum from 2 to 3:30 pm on Saturdays.
