Scolton Manor is a striking Victorian country house in Pembrokeshire, Wales, steeped in history, folklore, and reports of unexplained phenomena. Nestled within the Scolton Country Park near Haverfordwest, The manor has become well known not only for its heritage significance but also for its reputation as one of the most haunted historic buildings in West Wales.

History of Scolton Manor
Scolton Manor was built in 1842 for John Bethell, a successful lawyer and later Member of Parliament. Designed in the Regency Gothic Revival style, the manor reflected wealth, social status, and Victorian ideals of order and prestige. The Bethell family occupied the house for generations, with Scolton serving as both a family home and estate hub.

By the early 20th century, the manor fell into decline. Changing social structures, financial pressures, and the impact of the World Wars led  to the building being abandoned. Over time, Scolton Manor became derelict, exposed to the elements and slowly reclaimed by nature.

In the late 20th century, Pembrokeshire County Council undertook extensive restoration work, saving the manor from ruin. Today, it stands as a living history museum offering visitors a glimpse into Victorian life, rural Welsh heritage and estate history
