Orchard Maintenance Course

A comprehensive, two-day course delving into a range of techniques and practices for helping your orchard to thrive.

Focused heavily on nature-friendly approaches, the course looks across the orchard year to support you in developing a year-round orchard care plan.

We’ll look at topics including orchard design and layout, orchard restoration, the needs of the trees throughout the year, building resilient orchard soils, pruning across the year, and nature-based remedies and recipes for orchard health. The course will mix teaching and practice, with plenty of time for discussion and Q&As.

The course will run from 10:30 am -2:30 pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Please arrive for 10am for a prompt start at 10:30

The course tutor: Neil Kingsnorth co-runs Tyn y Berllan fruit tree nursery and the environmental social enterprise Patch of the Planet. He is also a permaculture designer and co-Lead Grower at Cilrath Acre community garden and he has been working with land and environmental projects for a quarter of a century.

Please be prepared to spend the day outside, bring your own lunch - it's not provided!

There is no parking directly at Orchard Mawr, but it's within walking distance ofpractice Haverfordwest town centre. Park anywhere in town and walk over to the orchard.
