- **Event Description**: Celebrate Arbor Day with the Arboretum!About this EventThe Arboretum has a longstanding tradition of planting trees on Arbor Day. First observed at Haverford on April 4, 1902, representatives of the Pennsylvania Forestry Association came out to the campus to celebrate the holiday. It became such a popular celebration that in the early 1900s, a song was arranged by J. H. Redfield, Class of 1899, and published by Hums and Noble. Over the years, the Arboretum has planted hundreds of trees in honor of this special day.This year, our guest speaker will be our student workers. The location of the tree planting will be decided upon at a later date. Members of Haverford College Arboretum will be able to take home their membership perk of a dividend plant during this event. Parking for off-campus community members can be found in the visitor parking lot.
