Annual Night Herpetology Hike

The 2025 Night Herpetology Hike is June 20th, 7 p.m.-10 p.m.! As always, this event is sponsored by our friends at Southern Prohibition Brewery.

Proceeds help support Central MS Turtle Rescue!

Come and enjoy a cold SoPro beer as you watch our students and staff wrangle reptiles and amphibians out of the lake. You will get to meet (at least) the following animals: Cope’s gray tree frog, barking tree frog, leopard frog, gulf coast toad, lesser siren, central newt, spotted salamander, speckled kingsnake, corn snake, gray rat snake, mud turtle, alligator snapping turtle, and common snapping turtle.

Light snacks will be served as well as an assortment of non-alcoholic drinks for designated drivers.

Admission is $15 paid at event. Must be 21 or older to attend.
