Drawing on her PhD research, alongside personal mountaineering adventures and time spent working as a glacier guide in New Zealand, she will share insights from both science and lived experience in the mountains. The talk will look at what’s happening to snow and ice in the places climbers and mountaineers know well, and why these regions matter far beyond the high peaks — as vital water stores, important ecosystems, and landscapes with deep cultural significance.Our Winter Lecture Series is open to everyone—both Alpine Club members and non-members. Whether you're passionate about daring expeditions, fascinated by gripping climbing stories, keen to explore the fundamentals of alpine climbing, or simply eager for an evening of adventure, we warmly invite you to join us.This year, tickets will be managed via Eventbrite.
