Your voice is with you every day — but it can be much more than a way of communicating.

Join opera singer, educator and co-founder of Project Prima Volta Anna Pierard for an engaging exploration of the connection between breath, sound, voice and everyday wellbeing.

Drawing on her extensive experience in opera, education and voice training, Anna will explore what happens when we breathe, use our voice and sing. Discover how the voice can influence mood, perception and self-awareness, and how simple vocal practices can become useful tools for regulation, awareness and confidence.

This is not about becoming a professional singer. It's about discovering the voice you already have and understanding how breath, sound and singing can support the way you feel and connect with the world around you.

Meet Anna Pierard 🎤

Anna Pierard is an opera singer, educator and co-founder of Project Prima Volta, National Youth Opera Aotearoa and Festival Opera, based in Te Matau a Māui Hawke's Bay.

Trained in the UK and Europe, Anna has spent more than two decades working in opera performance, voice training and youth development. Her work explores the relationship between breath, voice, identity and wellbeing, and how singing can support confidence, connection and self-awareness.

Through her work with rangatahi and tamariki, Anna is particularly interested in the voice as an embodied tool for communication, resilience and belonging.
