Spring invites us to wake up and to notice what has been hidden, habitual or dormant. It is the perfect time of the year to gently bring light where there has been contraction. The theme for the day is the yogic concept of the kleshas or obstacles of ignorance, ego-identification, attachment, aversion and fear.
This one-day Spring retreat offers a spacious, embodied exploration of the kleshas and how they subtly influence our thoughts, emotions and choices. Rather than viewing them as obstacles to be eliminated, we approach them with curiosity and compassion, recognising them as patterns of mind that can be softened through awareness and practice.
Through mindful asana, pranayama, meditation and self-inquiry, we will explore how the kleshas arise, how they are strengthened through unconscious habit and how they naturally loosen as clarity grows. This retreat is an invitation to align with the season of renewal: to meet old tendencies with fresh eyes, to cultivate discernment and to support the unfolding of greater ease and freedom in daily life.
