"Wolfgang Buld, a young German film student arrived in London in 1976 with an idea to find these 'punk bands' he was hearing about. Given some names of who to interview by Geoff Travis at Rough Trade Record Shop, he spent his time here filming the best bands on the new scene. I am biased about this being the best documentary on Punk, as my brother, Arturo Bassick of The Lurkers was interviewed in our tiny council flat, with my dearly departed Mum and Dad, saying a few positive words about Punk keeping my brother out of trouble!
Featuring X-Ray Spex, The Clash, Stranglers, Killjoys (with Kevin Rowland) Subway Sect and loads more, it captures the edge and energy of Punk in its very early days, with clips of live gigs, rehearsals and interviews with people who have gone on to have lifetime careers in music."
