Prairie Jubilee

March is here and the prairie is just about to wake up! ☀️ Come celebrate Spring and one year of restoration stewardship at the Prairie Jubilee @ Gensburg-Markham Prairie! 🌱 March 21st, 9am-12pm 🌼 Volunteers have been working diligently since the kickoff last March—collecting and dispersing native seeds, cutting and burning brush, and assisting in prescribed burns at the site.

No experience is necessary and all supplies and tools will be provided. There will be snacks and plenty of opportunity to meet new people & connect with a caring community, and experience the beauty of one of the world’s highest quality remaining prairies.

What To Expect: We will be cutting back woody brush with hand-tools and brushcutters in order to protect sun-loving prairie plants. There will be a brush pile where we will burn all that gets cut and to keep us warm. 🔥

Wear outdoorsy clothing and shoes that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty!
