- **Event Description**: Join us as we hear tips from Garden Club member, Mary Maxwell, about how container gardening gives us control of the sun and water needs for our flowers and herbs, so we can enjoy watching them grow. She will touch on issues such as:

1. Where do you plan to place your planter (on the ground, on the porch, on a table?)
2. Is that place shady or sunny?
3. What plants like more sun versus shade?
4. How often should you water it? (Some plants are more tolerant of getting dry between watering.)
5. What colors do you like? Bright or pastel?
6. How tall or wide will certain plants grow?
7. Adding non-flowering plants to the container, provides a nice contrast.

After Mary’s talk, we will all get together to do some planting in containers. The biggest thing to think about is to make sure you have FUN! We will have all the supplies, and this program is free, but you MUST sign up by June 1 so we have enough supplies.

There is limited space for this so make sure you call 978-456-4120 and sign up. There will be no walk-ins allowed.
