He became a monk at Dilyak Monastery in Kathmandu, later pursuing advanced studies at the Karma Shri Nalanda Institute in Rumtek under eminent teachers. Fully ordained as a Bhikshu in 1992, he completed the traditional three-year retreat at Palpung Sherabling in 2001 and became a respected Lama.He has taught internationally since 1990, speaks several languages, and is known for his warm humor.
