Here's what the experience will actually be like- Helen Dobb will perform auricular acupuncture as guests arrive (please see below) and create their Yoga Yoga Nidra nests, then she'll guide a session of Yoga Nidra (or Yoga Sleep) as all lie on their mats in deeply supportive resting pose, or your most comfortable shape or savasana. Progressive muscle relaxation is experienced all while turning your attention inward through breathwork and imagery. Yoga Nidra is the feature of the class, running approximately 45 minutes of relaxation where the only expectation of all attendants, new or returning to the yoga mat or studio, is to fully relax into your space and become as comfortable as possible. Okay, now what's AURICULAR ACUPUNCTURE?! Auricular Acupuncture involves the gentle placement of up to 5 needles in each ear. The natural benefits can include stress relief, increased calmness, better sleep, and less agitation. Helen will place these needles in the ears of guests as they settle in for stillness, and the benefits can be felt long after. Auricular Acupuncture, 6 pm. $25 Certified Yoga Nidra Guide, Certified Yin Yoga instructor, Helen Dobb found her yoga practice in 2018 while working as a mental health professional. Her passion for mental health, intentional self-care, trauma informed care and a love physical movement brought her to yoga teacher training with Kristine Mast in 2022. This journey opened up an untapped layer in her heart that began an adventure exploring the 8 limbs of yoga and a passion for the stories behind the poses. Traditional Vinyasa combined with breath work offered an opportunity for her to assist others to travel deeper into their own personal practice while making connections to the fundamentals. Her personal struggle with sleep and anxiety created a desire to understand how to support a decrease in symptoms through natural practices through yoga nidra and acupuncture. The success of this experience resulted in her becoming an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist with 5 point auricular acupuncture and a certified yoga nidra guide. This opened the benefits of the softer side of yoga and becoming certified in Yin Yoga. Helen has taught children as young as 3 years old movement and breath work, and groups of young adults to encourage self-care and mental health awareness. Helen has partnered her yoga knowledge with foundational social-emotional learning in the school systems. She offers both Yin and Vinyasa classes in the community, as well as, monthly workshops to support rest, relaxation, and an increase in sleep benefit.
