We’re proud to present a panel of five inspiring women from the Yorkshire Ladies Links membership, each ready to share their personal and professional journeys.
Each brings her own story and experience to the table, some with deep Yorkshire roots, others who’ve chosen to build their business life here, but all with the same drive to make a difference. They’ve all faced moments where they’ve had to pause, take stock and start again, personally and professionally. Their stories are honest, uplifting and capture the strength, authenticity and ambition that define this remarkable community of women.
We’re delighted to welcome back Christa Ackroyd as our host for this session. A respected journalist and broadcaster, and a familiar face to our network, Christa brings warmth, wit and genuine curiosity to every conversation. She’s interviewed world leaders and royalty, but her real passion lies in sharing the stories of everyday people doing extraordinary things, making her the perfect host for this discussion.

Supporting Women in Yorkshire: Our Charity Partner
We are proud to be partnering with Smart Works Leeds, an organisation that supports unemployed women with free coaching, personal styling, and job interview preparation. Over the past year, Smart Works has helped over 1,000 women across Yorkshire build confidence, secure employment, and transform their futures.
Stories That Inspire: Rebecca’s Journey
Rebecca came to Smart Works Leeds with her teenage daughter after surviving years in an abusive relationship. Unsure of where to turn or what to wear for an upcoming job interview, she met Fran, Smart Works Leeds' Outreach Assistant and a former client herself.
“From the moment we walked through the door, we were treated with such care and kindness. I had spent so long wearing black, and Smart Works helped me find colour again.”
Today, both Rebecca and her daughter are employed. Rebecca is now volunteering in her community and supporting other women through a peer group she started herself.
