Please note: Children participating must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Accompanying adults are required to purchase a standard museum admission ticket. Children taking part in the Arts Award activity pay the £7 participation fee.

Join us at the museum to complete your Arts Award Discover, the first of five qualifications awarded by Trinity College London that supports children to grow as artists and arts leaders.

Spot different types of art around the museum, create your own artwork, and learn about an artist or craftsperson linked to Harrogate and/or the museum collection. Crafts inspired by the museum collection will be running in the 1842 Room, giving participants the opportunity to try out different art forms with support from museum staff.

This event is aimed at children aged 5 to 9, but anyone aged 5 to 25 can take part. All successful participants will receive an official certificate from Trinity College London.
We estimate that the full award will take around 1.5 to 2 hours to complete. Please arrive no later than 2:30pm if you wish to take part in the art activities.
