How the Grinch Stole Liberty Street: Create-Your-Own Ornament Scavenger Hunt

The Grinch may have tried to steal the holiday magic from Liberty Street—but this year, YOU can help save it, one festive ornament at a time. During Winter Wonderfest on Saturday, December 6th from 1–6 PM, guests are invited to embark on a Craft-Your-Own Ornament Scavenger Hunt along Liberty Street.

That mischievous Grinch has taken apart our ornaments and scattered the pieces across Liberty Street, hoping to keep people from discovering—and gifting from—the many small businesses that make Liberty Street shine. We need your help to track down the missing ornament filler “bobbles,” each one representing something special you can find here: charming retailers with specialty gifts and thrifted finds, a gift shop with board games and gemstones, home décor, coffee shops, Virginia cider, craft breweries, delicious restaurants, a local bookstore, and so much more.

As you explore Liberty Street, collect the items hidden at 14 participating locations to build your ornament and fill it with the many things that make downtown Harrisonburg unique. Fill your ornament with items from at least 10 of the stops—and visit Sage Bird Ciderworks to receive a special prize!
