Changing Your Oil and Rotating Your Tires
Sunday, February 16th
1:30 - 4:30 PM
Oil changes and tire rotations are the most common maintenance items on your vehicle. They are crucial to maintaining the condition of your engine and tires as well as ensuring your safety and that of your passengers.
How many times have you found yourself sitting in a waiting area at the dealership or your mechanic wishing that you could just get your car and get back to your day? Or, maybe you’ve found yourself at the wrong end of a botched service job? Changing your oil and rotating your tires can easily be done in your driveway in less time than it would take at a service station. And, you’ll save money too!
Let Women Repair Zone help you develop the skills you need to do these tasks by yourself, for yourself. You’ll save money and time, and you’ll have peace of mind knowing that it was done correctly! Not to mention the sense of pride you’ll feel when telling your male co-workers that you did it yourself.
In this workshop you will learn to safely lift your car and install jack stands, change your oil and filter, remove, rotate and reinstall your tires.
Meet the Instructor: Beth Miller has worked in her father’s garage since she was old enough to reach a brake pedal. She assisted her father with the wrecked cars he rebuilt and sold to customers who would later return for routine maintenance. She learned to do brake jobs, change oil, and do tune-ups — all leading up to her buying her own wrecked cars to rebuild. Her skills would later serve her as a packaging mechanic for McKee Foods (a.k.a. Little Debbie) where she worked for several years. A lifelong writer, she now pays the bills by writing technical articles for the flooring industry, but if given the choice, she prefers to be in the garage.
