An equinox is a day in which the sun appears directly over the Earth’s equator, instead of to the north or south. This causes the northern and southern hemispheres to be equally illuminated by the sun, and the length of night and day to be nearly equal. There are two equinoxes each year, one in March and another in September.

The hike will be approximately 2 miles long and will start from the Luster Heights Unit parking area at 481 Luster Heights Rd, Harpers Ferry. This event is open to all ages, but participants younger than 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
