Dear Karate Friends,
On behalf of the Organising Team, Elite Karate Club London and the Shito Ryu Karate Federation of England, it is my great honour to invite you to participate in the 9th HARLOW Open, taking place on Sunday, 25th January 2026, in Harlow, Essex, England.
This competition, formerly known as the Open Shito Ryu England Karate Championships, has been renamed to make our event more inclusive and to avoid confusion that it was limited to Shito Ryu competitors only. Our goal is to welcome all styles and all ages, and this new name reflects that inclusive spirit.
Over the years, this championship has grown from a small local tournament into one of the largest karate events in England, proudly welcoming competitors from across Europe.
The event will take place at the modern Harlow Leisurezone Sports Hall, across six tatami, with the presence of highly experienced National, European, and World-level Judges and Referees from various countries.
We warmly welcome all WKF-affiliated members to join us, and we will do everything possible to ensure you feel at home and have a rewarding experience at our tournament.

Trophies will be awarded for 1st place, and medals will be presented for 1st, 2nd, and joint 3rd places.
Registrations will be managed via Sportdata, with three registration phases to ensure smooth organisation. Please note that fees vary slightly between phases; however, we strongly encourage everyone to register during Phase 1 to benefit from the best rates.
Phase 1: 24th October – 18th December
Phase 2: 19th December – 11th January
Phase 3: 12th January – 18th January
Limited entries, early registration is recommended.
