// ABOUT JOHANNES DE BRUIJN //
Johannes is currently the Executive Chef at arguably Joburg's best Restaurant- Winehouse at Ten Bompas, Dunkeld. Zimbabwean born Johannes completed his apprenticeship with the highly acclaimed H.T.A. School of Culinary Art. Prior to his current position, Johannes was the Sous Chef at Kloofzicht Lodge, and then the renowned Cube Tasting Kitchen in Parktown.
Johannes produces a nice mix of contemporary styles from around the world. His love of Asian flavours combines a meeting of East and West. Johannes is a young up and coming talent who has been inspired by the likes of Heston Blumenthal, and the former face of South African cooking Bertus Basson of Overture. He also worked alongside Michelin starred Chef John Burton Race, Johannes enjoys playing with techniques, textures and flavours.
This Pop Up event represents a journey back to his roots. It promises to set new levels in modern day fine dining in Zimbabwe @ Amanzi Lodge. This is not one to be missed. Look out for the tasting menu and wine pairing that will follow shortly.
