Evaluating Post-Genocide institutions
The Centre for African Studies at Arrupe Jesuit University has arranged a lecture series for this academic year from September to March to mark the 25th anniversaries of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsis in Rwanda and the end of the Apartheid regime in South Africa.
The Centre believes that these 25th anniversaries are a crucial moment to reflect on these important African realities, to celebrate the achievements that have been made so far in the process of recovery, to identify the important challenges that these events have raised and continue to raise and to discuss them in realistic and reasonable ways.
We have invited international experts to speak on the histories and the aftermaths of the events themselves. You are invited to attend these lectures and contribute to the discussions that these will generate.
