This workshop will teach you how to use UV resin to create unique jewelry and other projects from the simple to the sublime!
What is UV resin? It is a resin that is "cured" by using UV light, so it's less toxic and easier to use that something like epoxy resin. You can create clear pieces or add in powders to color the resin. All types of items can be added into the resin - the trick is learning how to add those items without affecting the curing of the resin. That's the challenging part.
This workshop will allow every student to create a simple, easy necklace and get some hands-on experience using UV resin.
All supplies will be provided, including options of items to add to your jewelry. However, if there is something you'd like to try to add to your jewelry, please feel free to bring it. Keep in mind the molds are very small so anything larger than a dime might be too big. But pressed flowers, stickers, stamps, crafting paper, small beads and charms can work. If it doesn't work for this particular workshop, we can discuss options as to how to add it in the future.
Dress for mess! Resin can be sticky and the powders get everywhere! So don't wear your best white shirt and linen pants!
Non-alcoholic drinks and snacks will be provided.
Supplies include: UV resin, molds, UV lights, clear embellishments, charms, mica powders, findings, and necklace.
Fee: $55 per student, $50 for seniors over 50.
PLEASE NOTE: Register before Tuesday, November 18 as I need to get a solid headcount to make sure I have enough supplies for everyone! Walk-ins will not be admitted.
