TJ’s first big influence in music is the Beatles which he heard as a ten-year old boy. His second big influence is the amazing Jimi Hendrix who blew his mind when he heard him for the very first time and has been a lasting influence on his life ever since.T J has played, toured and recorded with many notable performers like Chaka Khan, Madeline Bell, Linda Lewis, Hamish Stewart, the Mighty Sparrow, Cymande, Aston “family man” Barrett (bassist for Bob Marley and the Wailers) - and many others.T J’s other influences are Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Wes Montgomery, Buddy Guy, George Benson, BB King, Fela Kuti and the legendary James Brown.T J has been writing songs for many years, both for himself and also for other artists. For this performance at The Hanwell Cavern, Kelley and her band reimagine select classic folk-rock, pop, and country standards through a fresh jazz lens. Expect inspired takes on timeless tunes by Neil Young, The Beatles, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Bob Dylan, and more — familiar melodies transformed with rich harmonies, subtle swing, and thoughtful improvisation. Kelley has performed at notable venues including The Iridium and Jazz at Kitano in New York City, Pizza Express (The Pheasantry) and Ronnie Scott’s in London with New York All Stars ensemble, and she was a finalist in the NYC Jazzmobile Vocal Jazz Competition. Though New York will always hold a special place in her heart, she now calls West London home.ABOUT THE HANWELL CAVERN™In the past, many well know bands and musicians played gigs or rehearsed in various rooms at Hanwell Community Centre including The Who, Deep Purple, Procol Harum, Led Zeppelin, Uriah Heep, The Sweet, Manfred Mann, Gene Vincent, The Animals, Jerry Lee Lewis - and others! The historic Grade II listed building is also where Charlie Chaplin attended school as a child when it was the Central London District School aka Cuckoo Schools, and it is steeped in history.Today, the vaulted basement of the centre gets transformed by volunteers from an empty walk way and delivery area, into an atmospheric, underground pop-up venue called The Hanwell Cavern™ where we host live music events about once a month. All events are not-for-profit, and are run by a small charity of volunteers called Hanwell Community Centre Consortium. Our regular live music events often feature local bands and musicians from Hanwell and the Borough of Ealing.
