WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
Each class builds on the last, so by the end of the series, you’ll have real skills and three finished projects to show for it!
Class 1: Learn Your Machine
Get comfortable with your sewing machine from the ground up. We’ll cover all the parts, how to thread it, load a bobbin, and the essential sewing terms you’ll use forever. Then you’ll practice straight stitching, backstitching, and pivoting at corners, the building blocks of everything you’ll ever sew, and leave with a finished coaster.
Class 2: Straight Stitching in Action
Put your skills to work and make an adorable stuffed chicken! You’ll learn how to cut fabric, sew corners, add embellishments, add stuffing, and finish. The best part? The beak and comb are sewn right into the seam, so when you turn the chicken right-side-out, they magically pop into place. You’ll get Class 3 preparation homework to complete before our last class.
Class 3: Zippered Pouch
Time for a brand-new skill: installing a zipper! Using the fabric you cut at home, you’ll sew a small zippered pouch from start to finish. It’s a genuinely useful item and one of those projects that makes you feel like a real sewist.
