🎭About the play:
The Deep Blue Sea is one of Terence Rattigan’s most celebrated plays: a deeply moving and sharply observed portrait of love, loss, and loneliness in post-war Britain. Set in a shabby London boarding house in the early 1950s, the play explores a passionate love affair, a broken marriage, and the fragile connections that can offer hope in the face of despair.
This is a story of longing, vulnerability, and resilience — both heartbreakingly personal and unmistakably universal. Rattigan’s writing combines wit, restraint, and emotional truth in a way that still speaks powerfully to audiences today.
