Our guest speaker will be Mary Mantey who has been working with the Elizabeth River project for almost 3 years. Prior to that she worked in Public Gardens for over a decade. Mary is a passionate, devoted landscape designer who is dedicated to the pursuit of horticulture as a means of making a more habitable world for all. Horticulture is both her vocation and profession: an agent for recreation, creative fulfillment, community building, and social activism. Educated but always learning, she strives to be a leader and spokesperson for the solutions that horticulture provides. She developed a niche focus on using nature-based Green Infrastructure using Native Plants to combat climate change and pollution and provide habitat for wildlife. She will be presenting ways to create and sustain Wildlife with Native Plants.
