Peter Vanlaet speelt al een tijd met een idee: Nederlandstalige liedjes schrijven met een bluesy overjas. Geïnspireerd door songwriters als Jeff Buckley, Tom Waits en andere helden, brengt hij met zijn vijfkoppige band nieuwe nummers uit de gelijknamige plaat “Ik heb wel eens de blues”. Ook de klassiekers van Mama's Jasje worden in deze voorstelling in een deegje van kreunende bluesnoten gehuld.
