Batona and 1808 Loop

This will be a 7+ mile moderately paced hike south along the Batona Trail to Buttonwood Camp and then through the Mordecai Swamp by way of the 1808 and Sand and Water trails. The packed dirt trails are easy going until we hit the root systems on the 1808 where you'll want to watch your step. Bring lunch/snacks. We'll stop along the way for clothing adjustments etc. and at Buttonwood for lunch. Meet at the back of the parking lot of the Batsto Visitors Center. Look for my silver SUV. Arrive 15 minutes early to sign in, use the facilities and hear the safety talk. We'll leave promptly at 10:00. Text any questions to me at 609.335.6907.
