The Casbah presents...
Heading out on tour this summer from their hometown of Victoria, BC at Mile 0 all the way to the East Coast to promote the release of their latest album, ‘Permanent Frequency’ as well as celebrate Canada’s 150.
SPU play modern, epic, progressive, art rock something in the vein of Porcupine Tree, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Black Angels, Kate Bush and Radiohead. They consider themselves ‘adventurous rock’. And have played all types of shows, from cafes to house concerts to big festival stages. Here’s a video/track ‘White Noise’: .
The band has toured out to Toronto multiple times, as well as multiple western Canada tours, performed at Canadian Music Week and festivals such as Rifflandia, Diversity, Music on the Meadow, Elevate Festival, Woofstock, BC Days Victoria and many others. They’ve played over 160 shows in the past few years, some alongside acts like Bend Sinister, DOA, Saturn Alien, Moon Tan, Jon & Roy, Good for Grapes, Carmen Townsend, Mindil Beach, Lakes of Canada, Kytami, Isobel Trigger, and Jesse Roper.
Whale and the Wolf
A sound that is intimate and electric, Whale and the Wolf pulls on your emotions while packing a punch. Live, the band ramps up the audience with big robust energy, passion, and electric lust. The singles, Domino, Shiver, and Do it Loud have all received airplay on a number of CDN Radio Stations, resulting in the songs breaking into the Top 40 of Canada’s Active Rock Chart. Their six track EP is available on iTunes, Spotify & Soundcloud. Whale and the Wolf should be watched, or they may just swallow you whole.
The band has just wrapped up some new music in the studio with Producer Danny Craig.
These will be released throughout 2017.
The first single, "Touch" is out NOW everywhere.
