The Department of Theater welcomes Ty Defoe (Giizhig), the award-winning Oneida and Anishinaabe interdisciplinary writer and artist whose shape-shifting work has appeared in venues from Cairo to Lincoln Center. In this public talk, Defoe will reflect and talk with the audience about his career so far, its next directions, and what is currently guiding his thinking and making. 

This residency is sponsored by the Christian A. Johnson Endeavor Foundation*, LGBTQ Studies Program, and Native American and Indigenous Studies Program.

*The Christian A. Johnson Endeavor Foundation Artist-in-Residence was established in 1986 as a challenge grant in support of the arts at Colgate. The residency program permits one or more artists to become part of the Colgate community every academic year.
