From the grooving opening track “To Be That Needle,” to the charmingly lo-fi “Yearning,” Edmonds presents himself as a folkie with a tough, inner-city edge. It’s a stylistic shift he had been mulling over before Harlan Pepper’s dissolution, and as tracks began taking shape in his home studio, Edmonds soon realized he had no choice but to go all the way.

We play music while drinking tea, and will quite often apply peppermint oil to the backs of our necks to feel enlightened before a show. We play music void of drums. You will often see us smile at each other while performing, and as often as possible while not performing. Brad Germain plays the acoustic guitar and sings, Kate Quigley plays the flute and the piano and sings, Joel Banks plays the upright bass and sings, and Sara Froese plays violin and sings. Our music can be listened to by anyone who likes to daydream and by those who think about the metaphysical nature of all things. File under meta-folk.
