With over 40 years of international touring and hundreds of performances across Canada, this acclaimed ensemble from Zimbabwe brings the spirit of southern Africa to the stage through a spellbinding mix of a cappella singing, traditional dance, and colourful African attire as part of their Canadian tour!
They have toured extensively nationwide and internationally, including performances across North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. Blending rich vocal traditions in multiple southern African languages with the exhilarating athleticism of gumboot dancing, a striking percussive dance born in the mines of South Africa, Black Umfolosi International delivers a performance that is as joyful as it is deeply cultural. Their signature imbube style fuses traditional Zulu music with modern influences, creating songs filled with passion, humour, and soul.
