- **Event Description**: Come along and learn some basic weaves and techniques used to create taonga (gifts) for your whanau (family) as well as tikanga (customs and traditions).

It is an opportunity to connect with Te Taiao (the Environment).  Raranga (weaving) is therapeutic and is good for the soul. 

This wananga (1/2 day course) is a safe place to connect, to korero (speak), to katakata (laugh) and be yourself.  You will learn to make putiputi (flowers) and weave kupenga (fish net).

The course will start with Karakia Timatanga and we will teach kupu Maori (basic Maori words) used when weaving.
