About the event

Exploring the Unknown: Psychiatry, the Paranormal, and UFOs
Join Nova Scotia's oldest registered nonprofit paranormal society, Paranormal Phenomena Research & Investigation (PPRI), for an evening of captivating presentations on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Saint Maryโ€™s University - Sobey Building - Room 255. Explore the unknown with insights from experts in psychiatry, the paranormal, and the UFO phenomena.

Hosted by:

Dr. Elliott Van Dusen, Ph.D.
Elliott Van Dusen, known as โ€œCanadaโ€™s Fox Mulder,โ€ served as a Corporal in the RCMP for 15 years, specializing in major crimes such as homicide. For the past 27 years, he has been the founder and Corporate Director of Paranormal Phenomena Research & Investigation (PPRI), a nonprofit organization established in 1997.

Presentations

Dr. Craig Gosse: Psychiatry and the Paranormal

Discover the intersection of psychiatry and paranormal phenomena presented by PPRI Investigator and psychiatrist Dr. Craig Gosse.

Amy MacNeil: UFOs Have a PR Problem

PPRI Investigator Amy MacNeil will delve into 50 years of UFO disclosure in the US and Canada. Inspired by key moments like Paul Hellyerโ€™s 2005 revelation and the 2017 New York Times UFO coverage, Amy advocates for serious inquiry into UFO phenomena. She will discuss public dismissal, insufficient investigations, and recent findings by the American AARO that ignored high-profile UFO cases. Through her presentation, Amy aims to inspire curiosity and urge the audience to demand answers from elected officials.

Andrew Baird: PPRI's UAP Unit and Air Force UFO Encounters

Retired Royal Canadian Air Force Master Corporal and PPRI Director of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena Unit Andrew Baird will share his experiences with UFO phenomena during his military career and provide insights into PPRIโ€™s new UAP Unit, which investigates unexplained aerial and transmedium phenomena.
