In the weeks leading up to their icy plunge, each participant raises funds for their charity of choice:

• Minden Community Food Centre
• Central Food Network (+ Heat Bank)

? Between 2019 and 2024, there has been an 86% increase in the number of people who used a food bank in Ontario. The food banks in Minden, Wilberforce and Cardiff are feeding an average of 563 individuals per month -  in 2025 we are expecting this number to continue rising.
