A singular new voice in contemporary jazz, Lucía Gutiérrez Rebolloso blends traditional American jazz with the warmth of Latin folk, weaving soulful standards together with bolero and son jarocho—folk music from her native Veracruz. Lucía made history as the first Mexican finalist—and eventual winner—of the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition in 2022. She began performing at age 2 with her family’s group, Son de Madera, and later earned her degree in singing and jazz studies from the Universidad Veracruzana.

Lucía has collaborated with world-renown artists, including Natalia Lafourcade, Aloe Blacc, La Santa Cecilia, Quetzal, Alex Mercado, and the National Jazz Orchestra of Mexico, and has graced stages such as Carnegie Hall and Jazz at Lincoln Center. Her debut self-titled album, produced by Grammy-winner Matt Pierson, showcases Lucía’s interpretations of jazz standards, classic Spanish songs, and contemporary pop.
