Happy New Year!!! We hope you had a wonderful holiday season! Despite the political challenges facing our country, 2025 was a wonderful year for the animals, thanks to all of our hard work and dedication. We have lots of exciting announcements, the first of which is that we’re starting a monthly newsletter! We’ll still send out emails about specific events and action items, but we plan to put each month’s events, action items, and resources in a newsletter at the beginning of the month. We’re also open to suggestions on what you’d like to see in future newsletters!

Deadlines for many bills to be released from their initial committees have passed, but please continue urging your legislators to push for the bills that made it into the House or Senate Ways and Means Committee. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Please urge your legislators, the Chairs of the Joint Committee on Environment and Natural Resources, and Governor Healey to OPPOSE the Sunday Hunting Bill - https://www.mspca.org/animal_protection/sunday-hunting/! Unfortunately, Governor Healey recently stated her support of loosening hunting policies due to a rise in deer population.
