- **Event Description**: The Art of Business at Markeim Haddonfield is designed for artists, creatives, and aspiring entrepreneurs to explore how the arts are integrated into the world of business. Each week, participants will hear directly from local business leaders working in creative industries — from branding agencies to greeting card companies — and then dive into a hands-on business simulation that brings entrepreneurship to life.

Format:
Each session is divided into two parts — students may attend either or both:

Hour 1 – Guest Interview & Discussion:
Hear from a different local business leader each week as they share how their creative background has shaped their business. We’ll explore licensing, branding, storytelling, product development, and the personal paths that brought them into creative entrepreneurship.
Hour 2 – Startup Simulation & Workshop:
Using the Startup Wars platform, students will run their own virtual business in real time. We’ll break down the decisions they make in the simulation and connect them to real-world strategies for running a creative business.
What You’ll Learn:

How creative thinking drives business success
Real-world examples of art-based entrepreneurship
Key concepts in branding, licensing, and marketing
The fundamentals of launching and managing a business
Technology Requirement (Hour 2 Only):
To participate in the simulation, students must bring a laptop, Chromebook, or other device with internet access.

Who Should Attend:
This class is ideal for artists, designers, makers, and anyone curious about entrepreneurship in the creative industries. Open to adults and mature teens.
