We will create speculative situations that tap into this dynamic energy culture of the future. About the The world of energy is largely invisible. Artist and designer Rosalie Apituley (1998) questions why this is the case and explores how it could be different For example, last summer, Rosalie invited the people of the Netherlands to go ice skating on summer ice. At this temporary, ice skating was only possible when there was an abundance of solar energy. The rink was cooled using electricity generated by solar panels on the roof of Amsterdam’s Olympic Stadium. In this way, she made visible the fact that, at certain moments, we actually generate more solar power than we can use.How do these solar power surpluses work? What might a society look like that celebrates this abundance together? What does this mean for moments of scarcity? In the post-fossil era, the sun and wind will be our most important renewable sources of energy. This means that at some moments we will have an abundance of electricity, while at others there will be very little. How can we learn to listen more closely to the rhythms of nature? This exhibition, What We See Is What We Get, at Nieuwe Vide, invites you to imagine this dynamic future. During Teken Or Leave It we will dive into this future with Rosalie.More info about Teken Or Leave It~ - **Event URL**: https://allevents.in/haarlem/teken-or-leave-it-seasonal-celebration-in-society/100002000609254134 - **Event Categories**: art, workshops, exhibitions - **Interested Audience**: - total_interested_count: 0 - **Event Highlights**: - Duration: 3 hours - Location: Nieuwe Vide Artspace - Languages: English ## Ticket Details - **Ticket Price Range**: min: 0, max: 11.2, currency: EUR ## Event venue details - **city**: Haarlem - **state**: NH - **country**: Netherlands - **location**: Nieuwe Vide Artspace - **lat**: 52.38624309999999 - **long**: 4.651479900000001 - **full address**: Nieuwe Vide Artspace, 69 Energieplein, Haarlem, Netherlands ## Event gallery - **Alt text**: Teken Or Leave It: Seasonal Celebration in Society - **Image URL**: https://cdn-az.allevents.in/events2/banners/da24a21d6ff8d5adfe098d84de4ea4c8abfa466daeb15a15190f7c3379efd4dd-rimg-w1200-h1800-dcf8f8f8-gmir.jpg?v=1789588023 ## FAQs - **Q**: When and where is Teken Or Leave It: Seasonal Celebration in Society being held? - **A:** Teken Or Leave It: Seasonal Celebration in Society takes place on Wed, 18 Nov, 2026 at 07:00 pm to Wed, 18 Nov, 2026 at 10:00 pm at Nieuwe Vide Artspace, 69 Energieplein, Haarlem, Netherlands. - **Q**: Who is organizing Teken Or Leave It: Seasonal Celebration in Society? - **A:** Teken Or Leave It: Seasonal Celebration in Society is organized by Nieuwe Vide. - **Q**: Who is this event for?
