🍃 You're invited to a compelling artist talk with Bronwyn Davies and Joolie Gibbs, whose works in 'The Whisper in the Leaves' offer profound reflections on the environment, memory, and place.
Drawing on decades of experience in community cultural development and environmental advocacy, both artists have spent the past two years immersed in research and residencies among significant trees across Queensland. Their practices—rooted in handmade materials, storytelling, and deep listening—transform the silent witness of trees into powerful visual narratives.
🍂 Bronwyn and Joolie will share insights into their collaborative journey, 'If Trees Could Talk', and discuss how trees serve as living archives of colonisation, resilience, and ecological change.
Expect a rich dialogue on botanical inks, handmade papers, vintage maps, and the ethics of making art in conversation with nature. This is a rare opportunity to hear from two artists whose work invites us to slow down, listen deeply, and reimagine our relationship with the natural world.
