Maurice Carlos Ruffin, author of our Book Club selection, "The American Daughters," will share the research, heart, and hope behind this historical story that explores resilience, identity, and the untold stories of Black women in the Jim Crow South. He'll also also provide musical entertainment and sign books.

The book follows Ady and her mother, Sanite, enslaved yet bound by memory and hope. When separated, Ady finds refuge at the Mockingbird Inn, where she meets Lenore, a free Black woman who introduces her to a clandestine society of women spies called the Daughters. Guided by courage, friendship, and her family’s legacy, Ady embarks on a transformative journey toward freedom and self-determination.
