Exutoire du montréalais Raphaël Pépin-Tanguay, Velours Velours trace sa route depuis 2022, année de la sortie de son premier EP Fauve, coréalisé avec l'illustre Philippe Brach. Sa pop décomplexée, avec un penchant indie folk tantôt teintée d’accents rétro, tantôt brûlante de jeunesse, séduit rapidement un public toujours plus large. Velours Velours a également marqué les esprits avec ses prestations scéniques sur toutes les scènes et festivals du Québec et puis plus récemment en France, notamment au Printemps de Bourges.

Le 31 janvier 2025, il a dévoilé toutes ses couleurs sur son premier album Quand je pleure, je suis content. À la fois ambitieux et intime, tendre et passionné, cet opus a été distingué par la Sélection FIP à sa sortie, confirmant l’émergence d’une voix singulière et sincère dans la nouvelle scène pop francophone.
